Life at the Lakes 2012

Hello Members and Friends!

We want to acknowledge and thank all of you for your support as a member and friend of QCH. Our membership is the lifeblood of our organization and we appreciate your loyalty.

Your membership, combined with thesupport we receive from government, private donors and revenues from our wide variety of programs, enable us to accomplish so much this past year:

• We were able to employ a staff of five students, a full-time director and collaborate with other organizations on employing two additional students to deliver a full range of services and activities.

• We staged the highly successful ‘signature’ exhibition “Art Under the Influence”, a War of 1812 exhibition, the provincial Heritage Fair Showcase, our popular annual Tilley Birthday Bash, Ghost Walk & Dessert Theatre, concerts, book fairs, community festivals and fairs, and much more!

•Dozens of treasures have been added to the collections

• We broadened our membership, strengthened our policies and procedures, initiated tourism development strategies, attracted a lot of media interest, made improvements to our buildings and properties and played a leadership role in community development.

We’re proud of what we’ve been able to do and we could not have done it without you!

We plan to be just as busy in the coming year! We have an exciting major exhibition called “For the Birds” in the works that will highlight Miss Leora Simpson’s famous bird collection. We’ve got a new “Tilley Tea & Tours” program planned; Flower House will get a boost in 2013; an Elm Hill Research project being organized. And we’ll be involved in the 100th anniversary of the Burpee Covered Bridge in Chipman. That’s just a start! We think 2013 is going to be another of those blockbuster years!

Now we need you to please join us as a member or renew your membership today. If you choose to, you can renew at a higher level, gift a membership to a friend or family or add an extra amount as a donation.

Again, thank you for your involvement with Queens County Heritage. If you need anything, please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist. Together, we’re moving into QCH’s 46th year bigger and better than ever!
