The 65th Annual Queens County Fair wrapped up Sunday afternoon. Great weather overall, thousands of people, good times and good food, lots of promotion for Queens County Heritage and a good number of sales in the shop.
We spoke to almost 600 people at the booth in the Exhibition Hall. Many thanks to Mary Anne, Heather, Brittany, Cath and Bruce for keeping things under control, tidy and open and welcoming to those who dropped by to chat. We sold dozens of books, cards, pencils, t-shirts, mugs, key chains and coasters along with a little raffle of products. And oh yes, we did manage to have a basket of produce from the Flower House garden – green beans, cabbages, turnips and onions!
Next door at the Court House – thanks again to Jo, Corey, Mary Anne, Heather, Shawna and Cath for hosting about 1000 people at the shop and Stitch in Time quilt exhibition. Outside on Saturday and Sunday were the Antique Small Engine boys and their toys – a fun addition for the weekend.
By Sunday afternoon we were all ready, like George the Pig, to chill out on a bed of hay for a nap. For more images of the Fair including a video of the ox pull, visit us on Facebook.
