Trip to the Mount House, June 1989, by the Historical Society courtesy of a cattle scow and Paul Nevers’ boat!  Student employees, Bruce Thomson and John Blaney were asked to come along to “help little old dears get on and off the scow.”  Turned out the little old dears were so excited they hopped on and off the barge with little assistance.  We’ve believed in the restorative powers of culture and heritage ever since!

My friend and I went to the Mount House today, 13-09-29. What a beautiful place, a shame the old house is disintegrating. It was a beautiful day so we had great paddle over and a nice lunch on the mount beneath the great oaks.
